Co-operation between Central Authorities
The applications are to be made through the Central Authority of the Member State (requesting State) in which the applicant resides to the Central Authority of the requested Member State, Article 55 of the Maintenance Regulation (see similarly Article 9 of the 2007 Hague Convention).
The following illustrations give a brief overview of the general and specific functions of the Central Authorities as set forth in Articles 50 and 51 of the Maintenance Regulation (Articles 5 and 6 of the 2007 Hague Convention).
