Jurisdiction

 

Chapter II of the Maintenance Regulation regulates the jurisdiction of Member States bound by the Regulation in matters relating to maintenance obligations.

The jurisdictional rules are also applied by Denmark (the only European Union Member State not having joined the Regulation) in accordance with Denmark’s notification to implement the contents of Maintenance Regulation to the extent that this Regulation amends the Brussels I Regulation.
