Environmental Noise Directive (END)

The noise level of new outdoor machinery is covered by Directive 2000/14/EC, which fixed, for new machines, limit values which range from 82 dB(A) to 106 dB(A).

Directive 2000/14/EC covered machines such as compaction machines, tracked dozers, wheeled dozers, excavators, hand-held concrete breakers, tower cranes, welding and power generators, compressors and lawnmowers. The limit values for lawnmowers range from 96 dB(A) to 103 dB(A). Another group of outdoor equipment       only had to label its noise level, without being subject to a limitation. The different limit values were fixed in 2000 and have remained unchanged since then.
