Why are air and noise pollution an issue?
Air Pollution – Negative Effects (4/4)

Particulate matters (PM) are extremely small particles in the air, emitted by traffic, industrial activities, burning of fuels and other dust-generating actions or activities. According to their size, a differentiation is made between PM10 which have a size of up to 10 micrometers, and PM2.5 which have a size of 2.5 micrometers. Their particular risk to human health is that, due to their size, they may enter the lung and contribute to cardio-vascular and other diseases.

Moreover, EU limit values for PM10 were also exceeded widely in Europe in 2012.
