Why are air and noise pollution an issue?
Noise mapping
Starting from 2012 onwards on at least a 5-years basis noise mapping is required to be done for:
- all agglomerations (of more than 100 000 inhabitants)
- major roads (of more than 3 million passages per year)
- railways (of more than 30 000 passages per year)
- airports (of more than 50 000 passages per year)
