This presentation looks at the costs of redesigning market structures and protecting investors following the introduction of MiFID II. It argues that the costs – in terms of a shift to more risk-averse behaviour, a possible negative effect on liquidity and its impact on competition – exceed the monetary value of MiFID II’s implementation.
