This e-presentation outlines the legal framework created by Directive 2014/42/EU in relation to minimum rules for freezing, confiscating and recovering assets. It highlights its main provisions, as well as giving information about its transposition. The second part of the presentation focuses on the need to coordinate better the freezing of terrorist assets and how the EU Action Plan to Strengthen the Fight against Terrorist Financing is contributing to this. It concludes with an analysis of the proposal for a Directive on combating terrorism and replacing Council Framework Decision 2002/475/JHA and how this links into the freezing of terrorist assets.
