The material scope of the Maintenance Regulation, the 2007 Hague Convention and the 2007 Hague Protocol
The 2007 Hague Protocol has as the Maintenance Regulation a wide material scope: the Protocol applies to “maintenance obligations arising from a family relationship, parentage, marriage or affinity, including a maintenance obligation in respect of a child regardless of the marital status of the parents”, see Article 1.
